The cottage has a quiet and peaceful private setting in 12 acres of garden and farmland. The river boundary has a backdrop of native bush and the bird life and dawn chorus are awesome. The modern cottage has a queen sized bed, two single beds, bathroom, TV lounge, kitchenette and an artists studio with a woodburner . There is a courtyard and barbecue area with views of the river and bush.

Tarriff: $NZ 130 Double $NZ 90 – Single A continental or full breakfast is available and you can choose to join us in our home across the garden or to have your breakfast delivered to the cottage .

Waikanae village has several restaurants. The Nga Manu bird sanctuary and the beach are six minutes drive away. Paraparaumu shopping centre is ten minutes towards Wellington and on the way is the Southward Vintage Car Museum and the Lindale centre with it's craft shops and boutiques. Both Waikanae and Paraparaumu have wonderful beaches for swimming or just taking a stroll and there are many hiking trails in the area . Kapiti Island : Tours of the native bird Sanctuary can be arranged but need forward booking.

Wellington , our capital city is a 50 minute drive and has the airport, Interisland ferries, modern shops, art galleries and Te Papa – NZs National Museum.
